Bernadette Gallagher

Bernadette Gallagher is an Irish poet whose debut collection, The Risen Tree was published by revival press in 2024. Her poems have appeared in Crannóg, Agenda, The Stinging Fly, The North, Southword, Irish Examiner, and others, with work also recorded in the UCD Poetry Archive and featured on the Words Lightly Spoken podcast. She has read internationally, including at the Sahitya Akademi in New Delhi. Her essay on Dorothea Herbert appears in Irish Women Poets Rediscovered (CUP, 2021). She has received support from the Arts Council of Ireland and Cork County Council, curated Poetry in the Park (2024), won the Bread and Roses Poetry Award (2024), and was highly commended in the 2025 Desmond O’Grady Competition.
