Mickey Mc Fadden is  an artist and art teacher working in the north west of Donegal. He studied in the NWIFHL in Derry and continued on to University of Ulster in Belfast to finish his degree in fine art.

"From then on I work mainly from home, concentrating on painting and print works in the winter months and large scale sculpture in the summer months,  I have been a member of An Cosan Glas sculpture group since 1995 and this is my main outlet for my sculpture work"

"the sculpture that I’m working on for this project is based around belonging and being tied to a culture, a county, a parish, a community, what ever makes you you. In the world at the moment there is a split between humans, whether its political, religious or cultural ideology and it’s seems to be growing and my sculpture is a reaction to what is floating around the ether at the moment, I’m working with wood and rope and the sculpture is called “Bound"" visual arts

Ealaíontóir atá ag obair in iarthuaisceart Dhún na nGall, rinne mé staidéar san NWIFHL i nDoire agus lean mé ar aghaidh go hOllscoil Uladh i mBéal Feirste chun mo chéim san ealaín bhreá a chríochnú.

As sin bím ag obair go príomha ón mbaile, ag díriú ar shaothair phéintéireachta agus chlóite i míonna an gheimhridh agus dealbhóireacht ar mhórscála i míonna an tsamhraidh, bhí mé i mo bhall de ghrúpa dealbhóireachta An Cosan Glas ó 1995 agus is é seo mo phríomh-asraon le haghaidh mo dhealbh.

Dealbhóireacht Nua - tá an dealbh a bhfuilim ag obair air don tionscadal seo bunaithe ar mhuintearas agus a bheith ceangailte le cultúr, contae, paróiste, pobal, is cuma cad a dhéanann tú.

Ar fud an domhain i láthair na huaire tá scoilt idir daoine, bíodh sé ina idé-eolaíocht pholaitiúil, reiligiúnach nó chultúrtha agus is cosúil go bhfuil sé ag fás agus is imoibriú é mo dhealbh ar a bhfuil ar snámh timpeall an éitear i láthair na huaire, táim ag obair le hadhmad agus téad agus tugtar “Ceangailte” ar an dealbh
